What is the PARF Rebate Calculator?

The PARF Rebate Calculator estimates the Preferential Additional Registration Fee rebate you receive when you deregister a car in Singapore. The rebate is a percentage of the ARF you paid, decreasing with the car's age and capped depending on when the car was registered. Enter your ARF, the car's age and the registration period to see the rebate instantly.

Quick Answer

The PARF rebate is a percentage of the ARF you paid, returned when you deregister a car before it turns 10. For cars registered Feb 2023–Feb 2026: 75% of ARF under 5 years, stepping down to 50% at 9–10 years (capped at $60,000). Cars registered from Feb 2026 get a much lower 30%-to-5% schedule, capped at $30,000.

info

Deregister before the next age band to keep the 65% rate. PARF rebate falls in steps every year.

PARF rebate is separate from the COE rebate (the unused portion of your COE). This estimate uses LTA's published schedule — your actual rebate is confirmed by LTA at deregistration.

How the PARF Rebate Works

When you register a car in Singapore you pay an Additional Registration Fee (ARF)— a tiered tax based on the car's Open Market Value. The PARF rebate gives back part of that ARF if you deregister the car before it is 10 years old.

The rebate steps down every year, so a car deregistered just after a birthday is worth less in rebate than one deregistered just before. Budget 2026 cut the schedule sharply for cars registered from February 2026 — making the registration period the single biggest factor in your rebate.

The PARF rebate forms part of your car's scrap value. To see the full picture, use the Car Depreciation Calculator and the COE Calculator for the COE rebate, or the Total Ownership Cost Calculator for the 10-year cost of the car.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the PARF rebate?expand_more

The Preferential Additional Registration Fee (PARF) rebate is a partial refund of the Additional Registration Fee (ARF) you paid when registering your car. You receive it when you deregister the car — by scrapping or exporting it — before it turns 10 years old. The rebate is a percentage of the ARF that decreases as the car gets older.

How is the PARF rebate calculated?expand_more

The PARF rebate is a percentage of the ARF paid, based on the car’s age at deregistration. For cars registered between February 2023 and February 2026, the rebate is 75% of ARF if deregistered within 5 years, stepping down by 5 percentage points each year to 50% at 9–10 years. The result may be limited by a rebate cap depending on when the car was registered.

Did the PARF rebate change in 2026?expand_more

Yes. Announced in Budget 2026, the PARF rebate schedule was revised sharply lower for cars registered with COEs from the second COE bidding exercise in February 2026 onwards. The new schedule pays 30% of ARF for cars under 5 years (down from 75%), stepping down to 5% at 9–10 years, and the rebate cap was cut from $60,000 to $30,000. Cars registered earlier keep the older, more generous schedule.

What is the PARF rebate cap?expand_more

Cars registered before 15 February 2023 have no PARF rebate cap. Cars registered between 15 February 2023 and 12 February 2026 have a $60,000 cap. Cars registered from February 2026 onwards have a $30,000 cap. If your calculated rebate exceeds the cap, you receive the capped amount.

Where do I find my ARF?expand_more

The Additional Registration Fee (ARF) is printed on your vehicle log card, which you can view in the OneMotoring portal or the LTA Mobile app under your vehicle details. ARF is calculated as a tiered percentage of your car’s Open Market Value (OMV) at registration.

Is the PARF rebate the same as the COE rebate?expand_more

No. They are two separate rebates paid at deregistration. The PARF rebate is based on the ARF paid. The COE rebate is the unused portion of your Certificate of Entitlement — the COE premium pro-rated for the months of COE left. When you deregister a car, you may receive both. This calculator covers the PARF rebate only.

Do I get a PARF rebate if my car is more than 10 years old?expand_more

No. Once a car is 10 years old or older, it no longer qualifies for any PARF rebate. If you renew the COE to keep the car beyond 10 years, the PARF rebate is forfeited permanently — only the COE rebate remains. This is why many owners deregister just before the 10-year mark.

Does the PARF rebate apply to imported used cars?expand_more

A PARF rebate applies if the car was registered as a new car in Singapore, or was an imported used car that was not more than 3 years old when first registered here (for registrations on or after 1 September 2007). Older imported used cars and certain vehicle types are classified as non-PARF cars and only qualify for a COE rebate.

How accurate is this PARF rebate calculator?expand_more

The calculator applies LTA’s published PARF rebate percentages and caps for all three registration periods, so it gives an accurate estimate from the ARF and age you enter. Your final rebate is confirmed by LTA at the point of deregistration based on the exact registration and deregistration dates.
