About Smart Calculator
Singapore's free calculator hub — 127 accurate tools for CPF, tax, IPPT, housing, education, and the other financial decisions Singaporeans navigate every day.
Smart Calculatoris Singapore's free online calculator hub — 127 accurate, easy-to-use calculators covering the financial decisions Singaporeans face every day. CPF contributions, income tax, IPPT scores, PSLE results, HDB stamp duty, maternity leave, car costs, and more. Every calculator uses the latest official government rates, updated annually from primary .gov.sg sources.
Why We Built This
Singapore's government rates and policies change every year — CPF ceilings, tax brackets, HDB grants, IPPT incentive amounts. Most calculator sites either use outdated figures, apply WHO standards where Singapore uses different thresholds (BMI is a clear example), or simply provide a bare widget with no context explaining what the numbers mean.
We built Smart Calculator to give Singaporeans a single, reliable resource where every calculator is verified against the current official source, every result is explained in plain English, and every page links directly to the government authority behind the figures. No guesswork. No stale rates.
Our Calculator Standards
Every calculator we publish must meet five standards before it goes live — and must continue to meet them with every rate update:
Accuracy — Verified against primary sources
No Singapore government rate or policy figure is hardcoded without verification from the issuing authority. CPF rates come from cpf.gov.sg, tax brackets from iras.gov.sg, HDB grants from hdb.gov.sg, leave entitlements from mom.gov.sg, IPPT tables from the NS Portal, and BMI thresholds from the Health Promotion Board. We do not use training data or third-party aggregators for government figures.
Coverage — 127 calculators across 10 categories
Our calculators span every major domain of Singapore personal finance and government policy. The ten categories are: CPF & Retirement, Tax & Salary, Housing & Property, NS & IPPT, Education, Health, Cars & Loans, Retirement Planning, Leave & Workforce, and Parking & Transport.
We prioritise calculators where official tools are absent, hard to find, or poorly explained — filling genuine gaps rather than duplicating what government portals already do well.
Transparency — Methodology is public, sources are cited
Our full calculation methodology is documented publicly on our Methodology page. Every calculator page cites the official source for the rates it uses. Where our calculation approach differs from a naive interpretation (the CPF employee rounding rule is a common example), we explain the correct method explicitly. Users should be able to understand and verify what our calculators are doing.
Updates — Reviewed after every Singapore Budget
CPF rates are reviewed in January. Tax brackets are reviewed after the February Budget. Mid-year checks cover any as-announced policy changes. When the government announces a rate change, affected calculators are updated within 48 hours. Each rate data file carries a verification timestamp. The "Updated [Month Year]" badge on each calculator page reflects the actual date of the most recent verification, not the original publication date.
Independence — Educational tools, not financial advice
Our calculators are educational tools — they help you understand your numbers using official published rates, and a calculator's formula or result is never influenced by any commercial relationship. Smart Calculator earns revenue from display advertising (Google AdSense, clearly labelled "Advertisement"), our own educational guides, and affiliate partnerships with selected providers. Any affiliate link appears only in clearly-labelled sections — never inside a calculator's result — and every commercial relationship is set out on our disclosure page. For decisions with significant financial consequences, we always recommend verifying with the relevant government agency or a licensed professional.

The Team Behind Smart Calculator
Smart Calculator is operated by ONN Group LLP, a Singapore-registered Limited Liability Partnership (UEN: T24LL1015J). Our team has over 15 years of combined experience in SEO, content, and product development, with deep roots in Singapore media. We build tools and resources focused on the Singapore and Asian markets. More about our work at onnify.works.
Smart Calculator grew out of a straightforward frustration: finding reliable, accurate calculator tools for Singapore-specific financial questions was genuinely difficult. Most general-purpose financial calculators use global defaults — the wrong BMI thresholds, outdated CPF rates, missing Singapore-specific reliefs. Government portals are authoritative but often complex to navigate. The gap between "I need a quick, accurate number" and "I have the right answer" was larger than it should be for a country with Singapore's digital infrastructure.
The team behind this site has built it the way we would want to use it: fast, mobile-friendly, clearly explained, and updated reliably every time rates change. Every calculator page explains the logic behind the numbers, links to the official source, and tells you what to do next if you need to act on the result.
