Frequently asked questions

How much spending money do I need per day in Singapore?expand_more

It depends heavily on accommodation and attractions. This calculator separates prepaid flights and hotels from daily food, transport, activities and shopping so you can see the amount relevant to your trip.

How much cash should I bring?expand_more

The cash recommendation applies your chosen percentage to local spending after flights and accommodation. Cards are widely accepted, but some hawkers and smaller merchants may be easier with cash or local QR payment.

Can tourists claim Singapore GST?expand_more

Eligible tourists may claim GST on qualifying goods under eTRS. The S$100 minimum can combine up to three same-day invoices from shops under the same GST registration number. The retailer must participate, and services or goods consumed in Singapore do not qualify.

Does the estimate include service charges?expand_more

Your food and hotel inputs should be entered as all-in prices where possible. Actual hotel, restaurant and booking charges vary.
